Finding a funder is the easy part. The hard part is working out which of their programmes you're actually eligible for — and whether they're even open right now. This guide explains what the Greggs Foundation Community Action Fund funds, who qualifies, and its current status, so you don't waste a week on an application that was never a fit.
The Greggs Foundation Community Action Fund — currently closed
- Community Action Fund
Core funding of up to £20,000 per year for up to three years (max £60,000) towards core running costs (bills, rent/rates, core salaries) for not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of £25,000–£1,000,000. Each round funds organisations in specific locations only — the Foundation prioritises areas of high need and places near a Greggs Outlet (red signage), with a share ring-fenced for North East England. Not for national organisations, sports/uniformed groups, capital projects or religious activity. As of 18 June 2026 the fund is closed for new applications; check the funder's page for the next round's open date and eligible locations.

Before you apply to Greggs Foundation
- Check the eligibility basics first: where you work, the type of organisation you are, who you help, and the realistic size of grant you can deliver.
- Look at who Greggs Foundation has funded recently — recent grants are the best signal of whether your work fits their priorities.
- Don't rely on one funder. The charities that win consistently keep a live shortlist of several well-matched opportunities, not a single bet.
