Finding a funder is the easy part. The hard part is working out which of their programmes you're actually eligible for — and whether they're even open right now. This guide explains what the Henry Smith Foundation Early Years Parenting Fund funds, who qualifies, and its current status, so you don't waste a week on an application that was never a fit.
Early Years Parenting Fund — Expression of Interest round closed
- Early Years Parenting Fund
UK. £56,250 per year for 4 years (£225,000 total), flexible funding usable for core running costs, for charities (annual income £100k–£5m) delivering trusted, culturally-grounded parenting support for children aged 0–5 in the most deprived 20% of areas, or with Black, Pakistani and Gypsy/Roma/Traveller communities. This is a new long-term programme: the first Expression of Interest window opened 3 June 2026 and closed 1 July 2026 (5pm); shortlisted applicants are contacted week commencing 24 July 2026, full applications (by invitation) are due 21 August 2026 (5pm), with decisions expected October 2026. As of 2 July 2026 the Fund is closed to new Expressions of Interest and the Foundation has not announced a further round — check the funder's page for any future window.

Before you apply to Henry Smith Foundation
- Check the eligibility basics first: where you work, the type of organisation you are, who you help, and the realistic size of grant you can deliver.
- Look at who Henry Smith Foundation has funded recently. Recent grants are the best signal of whether your work fits their priorities.
- Don't rely on one funder. The charities that win consistently keep a live shortlist of several well-matched opportunities, not a single bet.
